Message from an appreciative new adopter we helped after finding the perfect match in another rescue group:
“I can’t thank you enough for telling me about Oscar! I took him home Wed. night and it is working out beautifully except for my female…she is still hissing and growling when she is near Oscar but Oscar just looks at her and walks away. He doesn’t want to argue. He is so sweet and I love him already. I am going to be sure to donate a little to the Crestwood shelter because you truly know how to match pets to their appropriate forever homes!😸”-Dessie
We get a lot of email and comments requesting information on becoming volunteers at the shelter. Please visit our Volunteers page by clicking this link or using the menu above. There is information on what is required from you to become a volunteer and an application to join us as a volunteer.

Thank you to the Truman Middle School and Sperreng Middle School Interact Club. They sold thousands of dog treats baked by the club and presented us with $1,000 tonight. Thank you for supporting the dogs and cats of the Crestwood Animal Shelter!
We could really use more dog walkers. We have four shifts: morning, noon, dinner, and bedtime. We max out at two dogs so you can do a shift in under an hour. And for the noon and bedtime shifts, all you really need to do is let the dogs out in the courtyard for a potty break if you don’t want to take them for a walk.
If you are interested, please fill out our volunteer application. Thank you!
